Prosthetics in Krakow

protetyka estetyka stomatologiczna 1

Dental prosthetics is a very broad field dealing with the restoration of missing teeth. Thanks to the use of the latest technologies, we offer aesthetic and functional restorations such as: crowns, bridges, onlays/inlays and dentures, including implant-based dentures of the all-on-4 and all-on-5 type.

The fees for prosthetic devices vary greatly depending on the type of reconstruction and the material from which they are made. All prosthetic procedures are performed under a microscope, based on close cooperation between the doctor and the dental technician.

Prosthetics, i.e. crowns, inlays/onlays and bridges – how do they differ?

A dental crown is the visible part of the tooth above the gum. The most common indication for a dental crown is to strengthen the tooth, e.g. after root canal treatment or in the case of major tooth damage caused by caries. The material from which we make crowns is most often porcelain, which can have a zirconium or metal base. Porcelain is a material of high durability and additionally it looks very similar to natural teeth.

Onlays\inlays are an alternative to crowns and fillings. We use them when the tooth structure is not sufficient enough to place a regular filling. Onlays/inlays are also an alternative to crowns, without the need to file down the tooth for the crown. Onlay is an “overlay” perfectly matched to the structure of your tooth.

Dental bridges – a permanent filling of missing teeth using adjacent teeth as pillars. They consist of crowns placed on pillar teeth and a bridge span – a crown. These crowns are connected to each other.

AESTHETICS | VENEERS – what are they?

These are thin mouldings (0.2-1 mm), bonded to the front of a previously prepared tooth. Their presence is unnoticeable. They mimic the natural structure of teeth, correct their shape and colour. The material from which veneers are made is most often porcelain, of which there are several types: feldspathic, e-max or feldspar. Porcelain provides an optimal colour which is the closest to natural teeth by mimicking the optical properties of the tooth structure. Such veneers are also durable and resistant to discoloration.
