VENEERS
Veneers are ultra-thin porcelain or composite mouldings permanently bonded to the visible (front) surface of the tooth. This allows to change the colour and shape of the tooth.
MAKEOVER
A 55-year-old patient came for comprehensive treatment to completely transform her smile. She was most interested in closing the diastema – the gap between the front teeth, which she had never accepted.
Due to her age, she did not want to undergo orthodontic treatment. Conservative treatment was carried out, after which the patient had implants, zirconium restorations were used in the lateral sections to finally polish the teeth in the aesthetic zone at the top and bottom and cement the porcelain veneers.
When are veneers used?
This method is often used on front teeth for visible discoloration, as well as on slightly chipped, broken or worn out teeth. Veneers are also used to cover the gap between the front teeth (diastema). It is also a method of correcting the shape of the tooth. Thanks to the use of veneers, patients acquire a “Hollywood smile”.
These features of veneers should be highlighted:
- Durability – they last for many years
- Veneers bond with periodontal tissues and are highly resistant to abrasion
- Quick aesthetic effect.
